Shobukan Judo Club has the distinction of producing 2 of the 6 Senior national champions in the 1st National AAU Judo Championships held in San Jose in May 1953. Under the training of Professor Sunao Migita, Charles Nakashima & George Hatae won the 1953 National AAU 150lb & 130lb championships, respectively. In subsequent years, Shobukan is proud to have produced over 50 national champions both at the Junior & Senior levels. Some of the champions include, among others:
